What you need to know
You can supplement your medical coverage by purchasing critical illness, accident, or hospital indemnity insurance. These insurances help you pay for expenses and offer peace of mind if you’re injured, ill, or need to go to the hospital. You can use the cash however you choose — and you can take this coverage with you if you leave the Company.
Critical illness insurance
A critical illness can cost you thousands of dollars in out-of-pocket expenses. Critical illness insurance gives you cash so you can pay your bills and cover everyday expenses (like utility bills and mortgage payments) while you focus on getting better. This insurance covers conditions such as:
- Heart attack
- Stroke
- Cancer
- End-stage renal failure
You have the option to elect from two tiers of coverage under the Critical Illness plan:
- Low Plan: $15,000 benefit
- High Plan: $30,000 benefit
Your costs for coverage are based on your age and deducted on a post-tax basis each pay.
PRO TIP: If you’re enrolled in the critical illness insurance plan, health screenings like mammograms, immunizations, Pap smears, and routine health checkup exams receive a $100 benefit.
1 Your spouse/domestic partner and children, if enrolled, are also eligible for the $100 benefit.
Accident insurance
If you’re injured in an accident, this insurance can cover everything from your medical costs to everyday expenses.
Covered events include:
- Ambulance services
- X-rays
- Hospital admission and more
Hospital indemnity
An unexpected trip to the hospital can be costly. With this insurance, you receive a lump sum to help pay for expenses if you or a family member is hospitalized.
The Hospital Indemnity benefit provides a cash payout for hospital admission, critical care, rehabilitation services and more!
PRO TIP: If you’re enrolled in the hospital indemnity insurance plan, health screenings like mammograms, immunizations, Pap smears, and routine health checkup exams receive a $100 benefit.
1 Your spouse/domestic partner and children, if enrolled, are also eligible for the $100 benefit.
