Enrolling

When can I enroll?

You can enroll during the Open Enrollment period, the first 30 days after your hire date, or within 30 days of a qualifying life event (such as the birth of a child, marriage, or divorce).

If you’re a new hire and don’t enroll within your first pay period, you’ll be charged retroactive benefit deductions on the first check following your benefits back to your date of hire.

While you should take the time to enroll in the benefits that are right for you, the longer you delay enrollment, the larger the amount of retroactive deductions that will be taken from your paycheck.

Coverage and premiums are effective on the original effective date of the event. Any missed premium payroll deductions will appear on your next pay in full as a retro deductionRetroactive Premium Deduction: Coverage and premiums are effective on the original effective date of your enrollment event. Once your enrollment or change is approved and finalized, any missed premium payroll deductions dating back to the effective date will appear on your next pay as a retroactive deduction and will be deducted from your check in full..

What happens if I don't enroll?

Depending on your situation, if you don’t enroll during the Open Enrollment period or within your first 30 days of employment, you won’t have benefits through Rentokil for 2026, except for the following benefits, which you receive at no cost to you:

  • Basic life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance
  • Short-term disability
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • New hires are auto-enrolled in long-term disability at a 50 percent cost-share with the Company unless they opt-out during their new hire benefits event.

You won’t be able to make changes to your benefits in 2026 unless you have a qualifying life event, such as the birth or adoption of a child, marriage, or divorce.

Eligibility

Who can I cover?

You can cover your legal spouse, including a common-law spouse where recognized, or domestic partner (regardless of sex), your children, and your spouse’s/domestic partner’s children. Colleagues with spouses/children who are also Rentokil employees can’t carry duplicate benefits, including supplemental life.

  • You
    • If you’re a regular, full-time colleague, you’re eligible for coverage on day one of employment.
    • If you’re a part-time colleague working a minimum of 20 hours per week, you’re eligible for employee-only medical plan coverage on the first of the month following your one-year anniversary. Part-time colleagues can cover dependents on dental and vision.
  • Your spouse/domestic partner
    • You can cover your legal spouse, including a common-law spouse where recognized, or domestic partner (regardless of sex). If you’re adding a domestic partner as a dependent, you’ll need to complete a Domestic Partner Affidavit.
  • Your children
    You can cover:
    • Children up to age 26 (including biological, stepchildren, legally adopted children, children placed for adoption, foster children, your domestic partner’s children, and children for which legal guardianship has been awarded to you or your spouse/domestic partner).
    • Dependent children age 26 or older, unmarried, and primarily supported by you and incapable of self-sustaining employment by reason of mental or physical disability are eligible to be covered under this Plan. You will be required to certify and recertify your adult dependent periodically.
What qualifies my domestic partner to be eligible for coverage?

For your domestic partner to be eligible, you and your domestic partner must complete a Domestic Partner Affidavit and have it notarized. Along with the Domestic Partner Affidavit, you must provide two items (showing the same address) that indicate you are financially interdependent. You will receive a copy to complete and return to RTX Benefits for dependent verification purposes.

Does imputed income apply if I'm covering my domestic partner and/or their children?

If you are covering your domestic partner and/or your domestic partner’s children, imputed income will apply.

Imputed income is the value of coverage paid by Rentokil for your domestic partner and eligible children. Imputed income is considered taxable income to you, and your portion of the premium must also be paid on an after-tax basis.

Premiums and deductions

How are premiums deducted for benefits?

Benefit premiums are displayed in Workday, the Benefits Guide, and on this website as monthly amounts. However, they are deducted from your paycheck according to your weekly or semi-monthly pay frequency schedule. If you are paid weekly, take the monthly amount and multiply by 12 and then divide by 52 to get the weekly deduction. If you are paid semimonthly, take the monthly amount and divide by 2.

What are retroactive payroll deductions?

Coverage and premiums are effective on the original effective date of your enrollment event. Once your enrollment or change is approved and finalized, any missed premium payroll deductions dating back to the effective date will appear on your next pay as a retroactive deduction and will be deducted from your check in full.

You can submit any claims incurred back to the effective date to be considered for payment.

Benefit premiums are only deducted from on-cycle paychecks. Retroactive deductions might also generate if you receive any type of paycheck that is not an on-cycle check.

What are arrears?

If you receive a paycheck that does not include enough pay to cover all of your benefit premium deductions, the remaining premiums due will be placed into arrears.

Arrears are deducted from your pay going forward at a rate of 30% of the regular deduction amount each paycheck until paid off. On your payslip, arrears will appear combined with the regular deduction amount and will not appear on separate lines.

How do I pay for my benefits while on a leave of absence?

If you are on a paid leave of absence that is paid to you through Rentokil’s payroll, your benefits will continue to be deducted from your disability payments.

If you are on an unpaid leave of absence, or a leave that is paid by a payor besides Rentokil payroll, you will receive a Direct Bill invoice from Inspira Financial on behalf of Rentokil. To contact the Inspira Financial billing department, call (800) 359-3921.

What does Rentokil contribute toward my premiums?

You can view which benefits are paid in whole or partially by Rentokil, and the amounts, by viewing your payslip in Workday. Go to Menu > Benefits and Pay > Overview > View Most Recent Pay > look under the Employer Paid Benefits section.

How are the medical plans different?

Our national medical plans — PPO 1000, CDHP 2250 and CDHP 3750 offered though Highmark — generally cover the same services just at different levels. and use the same nationwide Blue Cross Blue Shield networks. In addition, based on your zip code, you may be eligible for two High Performance Network options — PPO 1000 HPN and CDHP 2250 HPN — that use a narrow High Performance Network of providers and do not provide out-of-network coverage with the exception of emergency services. The in-network coverage for the PPO 1000 HPN and CDHP 2250 HPN is the same as the PPO 1000 and CDHP 2250.

To review your medical plan options, click here. To compare costs, click here. California residents also have the Kaiser HMO option available based on their zip code. If you live in Hawaii, your medical plan option is the HMSA PPO.

Savings and spending accounts

Which accounts can I use to pay eligible expenses with tax-free dollars?

There are three different accounts you can use to help save on taxes and pay for out-of-pocket healthcare and commuter expenses.

  1. If you elect the Highmark CDHP 3750, CDHP 2250 or CDHP 2250 HPN, you’re eligible to contribute to a Health Savings Account (HSA), in most cases. You can contribute your money, tax-free, up to $4,400 for individual coverage or $8,750 for family coverage, to pay for eligible healthcare expenses. If you’ll be 55 or older in 2026, you may contribute an additional $1,000. Any money you don’t use rolls over to the next year, and it’s always yours, even if you leave Rentokil.
  2. If you elect the Highmark PPO 1000 or PPO 1000 HPN, the Kaiser HMO, the HMSA PPO, or waive medical coverage, you’re eligible to contribute to a Health Care Flexible Spending Account (HCFSA). You aren’t eligible to contribute if you enroll in a Highmark CDHP. You can contribute your money, tax-free, up to $3,300, to pay for eligible healthcare expenses. You can roll over unused funds per IRS guidelines per year ($680 for 2026). Any unused balance above $680 would be forfeited.
  3. The Commuter Reimbursement Account helps you save on commuting and parking costs by contributing pre-tax money to a fund to pay for these expenses. You’re allowed to contribute up to $340 per calendar month. Account funds are “use it or lose it” — they don’t roll over year to year. Eligible expenses include bus, train, ferry, and subway fares, as well as parking expenses. You’re not eligible for a Commuter Reimbursement Account if you have a Company vehicle or vehicle allowance.

Protection benefits

What are the benefits for the critical illness, accident, and hospital insurance plans?

These plans can help you pay for expenses and offer peace of mind if you’re injured, ill, or need to go to the hospital. Each of these plans pays lump-sum amounts to you or a covered dependent based upon the medical situation.

  • If you’re diagnosed with a critical illness, such as cancer, or suffer a heart attack or stroke, critical illness insurance pays a lump-sum payment to you or a covered dependent.
  • If you or a covered dependent is injured in an accident, accident insurance can help pay for everything from your medical costs to everyday expenses.
  • If you or a covered dependent is hospitalized, hospital indemnity insurance provides a lump-sum payment to help cover any out-of-pocket costs.
What if I am sick or injured?

Disability coverage protects you when you’re sick, injured, or pregnant and can’t work by replacing a portion of your monthly income while you recover. You’re automatically enrolled in short-term disability (STD). Rentokil pays the full cost of coverage.

If you’re a new hire, you’ll be automatically enrolled in long-term disability (LTD) at 60 percent coverage. (Pre-existing conditions may apply.) You share 50 percent of the cost of coverage with Rentokil. You must opt-out of LTD coverage within 30 days of hire if you don’t want coverage.

Why should I be interested in identity theft protection?

It only takes one wrong click to become a victim of identity theft. Identity theft protection helps you manage and protect your privacy online. It can lessen the impact of data breaches and reimburse you if you’re a victim of fraud.

Is a legal services plan available?

Yes. Legal help is a phone call away with the LegalEASE Plan. It gives you affordable access to in-network attorneys for will preparation, estate planning, family law, and more. To open a case, visit legaleaseplan.com/rentokil or call (800) 248-9000 and follow the prompts to speak to a representative.
