  • Leave of absence: If you have been absent from work without a preapproved vacation or sick time, you should apply for a leave of absence through AbsenceOne.
  • Disability: AbsenceOne can work with you to decide if your illness or injury is eligible for short-term disability (STD). STD replaces a portion of your income while you recover. If you elected long-term disability (LTD) coverage, you can use this coverage if you need additional financial support beyond 13 weeks.

    • Bariatric surgery
    • Knee and hip replacement
    • Spinal surgery
    • CAR-T therapy

    Carrum Health is optional for substance use disorder treatment facilities, oncology treatment, and all other surgeries. When use a Carrum Health, most or all of your costs are covered

Submit a hospital indemnity insurance claim if enrolled

If you’re enrolled in hospital indemnity insurance, you may be eligible to receive cash payments to offset medical costs and other expenses. You’ll need to submit a claim within 30 days of being hospitalized or as soon as reasonably possible.

If you’re enrolled in the Highmark CDHP, CDHP HPN, PPO, or PPO HPN plan, you can treat joint and muscle issues virtually with personalized programs through Hinge Health — at no cost to you. This benefit includes access to a physical therapist and health coach, physical therapy sessions, and app-guided exercises.
